It's here! It's here!

So, let's start this post by asking if you have ever seen a fresh hop? One that grows wild around the Salt Lake alleyways and in the Park City mountains? Have you? Would you know what one looked like if you saw it?

One would surmize that fresh hops are always used to brew beer. Not true. Hops are not in season all year round. Hops are dried into pellets that brewers use to make beer. That's why it's such a treat to drink beer that is made with fresh hops.

Chris harvesting hops in or near Park City.

This looks like a DEA bust, but it's not. Just hops.

And here is the (almost) end result of all that hard work. The Radius beer, so named because all ingredients that went into making this beer came within a 150 mile radius of Salt Lake City. Now, if you want to see how this beer turned out, if you want to experience a fresh hopped beer, make haste. The radius is ON TAP NOW! Last year it was only available for about three weeks. It's that good and people are that excited about it. So come in to the Desert Edge Brewery asap and try a pint of the Radius while you can, cause 2011 is a long way away!

Celebrate the Utah Utes Football season at the Desert Edge Brewery

Celebrate the Utes football season at the Desert Edge Brewery. Bring in your Utah Utes football game ticket, (pre-game or post-game, however, MUST be day of game ticket) and receive our student discount on Desert Edge brewed beverages!

With the Trolley Trax stop just a short block away, leave the headache and hassle of game time parking to the other guy. Relax and enjoy food and drink and let someone else do the driving.

For those who don't have tickets, we do have t.v.'s here in the restaurant. It's a great place to watch a game, eat some food, and enjoy a great hand-crafted beer.
